Spencer Derr
founder & Artistic Director
Spencer serves as both CEO and CFO, incorporating his love and reverence for the writer's process into DBD's artistic vision & repertoire. He earned a BA in Theatre Arts - Playwriting, from California State University, Fullerton. In his native California, he worked with The Fountain Theatre as Box Office Manager, with La Mirada Theatre as a Sales Supervisor, and at Atwater Village Theatre as a Coordinator/Writer Liaison for their reading series program in association with Circle X Theatre Co. Yet on the Central Coast of CA, a more special place is reserved in his heart for his time as Assistant Winemaker at Timbre Winery. (See recommended labels here.) During a stint in New York City in 2014, he worked for the NYC Fringe as an Associate Producer and received a scholarship to attend NY Theatre Intensives' playwriting program, held in association with Ensemble Studio Theatre. Since 2018, he resides in Prague and can be found appraising wine or writing dialogue on the metro. He is the point of contact for giving donations, Staged Reading Series, producing plays outside of DBD's repertoire, international collaboration, and any issues that may arise with the use of the website.
Kierstan DeVoe
Director of Development
Founding Board mEMBER of Dark Bark Drama and Founder of Playwrights in Prague, Kierstan oversees the new play development program and acts as a liason between "DBD" and "PIP." She received a BA in Theatre Arts from Gettysburg College and a MA in Authorial Acting and Pedagogy from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (DAMU). Originally from Baltimore, Maryland USA, she has lived and worked in the Czech Republic for six years. With a broad spectrum of experience from acting, directing, and writing for both film and theatre, her primary interest lies in instant composition (and cats). She is the point of contact for Playwrights in Prague, Write Before Your Eyes, and any potential collaboration with other established groups based in Prague.
Olga Mikulska
Outreach Coordinator & Casting Director
Founding Board mEMBER of Dark Bark Drama, Olga organizes the outreach and educational workshop programs. She also runs the casting department and the Cold Imp series. Originally from Poland, she holds a BA in Culture Studies (Warsaw University, Poland) and an MA in Authorial Acting and Pedagogy (DAMU, Prague). Before coming to Prague in 2014, she actively worked with the International Association of Theatre for Children and Young People (ASSITEJ) through Ognisko Teatralne 'U Machulskich' in Poland, leading and organizing theatre workshops. In Warsaw, she was a Project Coordinator for the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art. In her work, she combines elements of body awareness, voice coaching and method acting. In her spare time, she enjoys sound walks and her pet bunnies. Olga is the point of contact for Cold Imp, casting, and questions about upcoming workshops.
